Amy’s Table: Girl’s Night Out @ Krohn Conservatory June 12th

p1010106Another fun evening was had by all last Friday night at Krohn Conservatory.  Not only did we shake some great cocktails and eat some fantastic appetizers, Diana Hoffman and Gary from Kama Salsa taught us some sexy salsa dance moves and Hannah Eaton from Mitchell’s Salon and Day Spa dazzled us with slick tricks for stylish summer party hairstyles and make-up.  The swag bags were filled to the brim with hand fans from the Bitty Breeze, Sunglasses, a sample bottle of Taste of Florida Mango Real Fruit Mixers and Hypnotic, mints, lip balm and coupons.  Check out the event photos and join us for our next Girl’s Night Out @ Krohn Conservatory on October 9th for “How to Host a Wine Tasting Party” presented by  Amy Tobin , party planner extraordinare.

Zootini Martinis

If you enjoyed last night’s Zootini at the Cincinnati Zoo, you were not alone!  Jay Dickerson, EQ Bar Chef did a great job creating, mixing and shaking these cocktails just for you!  Let us know which was your favorite!

zootini-manatee-melon

Manatee Melon Martini
1½ ounces tequila
1 ounce  melon liqueur
½ ounce orange flavored liqueur
½ ounce lime juice
2 ounces sour mix

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass.

The Watering Hole Hpnotiq® Martini
2 ounces Hpnotiq® liqueur
1 ounce coconut rum
2 ounces pineapple juice

Combine all ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a martini or cocktail glass and serve.

African Violet Martini
2 ounces raspberry vodka
½ ounce Chambord
1 ounce grape juice
½ ounce lime juice
Lime wedge

Shake with ice and strain into a well-chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Sihil’s Martini
2 ounces rum
½ ounce passion fruit liqueur
½ ounce simple syrup
1 lime wedge
2 ounces pineapple juice
Mint leaves

In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint, simple syrup, and limes.  Add ice, rum, passion fruit liqueur, and pineapple juice.  Shake vigorously and strain into chilled cocktail glass.  Garnish with mint sprig.

Zootini Martini
1½ ounces bourbon
½ ounce maraschino liqueur
Dash grapefruit bitters
1 teaspoon of maraschino cherry juice
Maraschino cherry
Ginger ale

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except ginger ale and shake. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Top with ginger ale. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Watermelon Long Island Iced Tea

  • 1-¾ oz Jigger
  • 64 oz glass pitcher
  • wooden spoon
  • 12 oz Collins glass/li>

Ingredients

  • 3 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka (Aisle 12A)
  • 3 oz Bacardi light rum (Aisle 12A)
  • 3 oz Tangueray gin (Aisle 12A)
  • 3 oz Senior Curacao Clear Curacao (Aisle 9B)
  • 6 oz Dekuyper Watermelon Pucker (Aisle 11B)
  • 1 liter Holland House sweet & sour mix (aisle 7C)
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • ice
  • 1 medium watermelon, cubed

Instructions

  • Mix alcohol and sour mix together in a pitcher over ice. Stir with wooden spoon.
  • Pour into Collins glass over ice.
  • Top with the splash of soda.
  • Garnish with a watermelon cube and enjoy!

Lemondrop Lemonade

Glassware/Bar Tools Needed
Bar tools can be found in Aisle 9B at the PartySource.

  • measuring cup
  • 1 gal. pitcher
  • Sugar & Salt Glass-Rimmer
  • wooden spoon
  • 12 oz Collins glass

Ingredients
The location of these ingredients at the PartySource is listed in parentheses.

  • 12 oz Hangar One Buddha’s Hand Citron vodka (aisle 12A)
  • 3 oz Cointreau orange flavored liqueur (aisle 9B)
  • (2) 25.4 oz bottles Lorina sparkling lemonade (Endcap 1B)
  • 2 lemons, cut into wedges
  • sugar
  • ice

Instructions

  • Wet the outside rim of the glass with lemon wedge. The lemon juice helps the sugar stick to the glass.
  • Holding the glass parallel to the bar surface, dab the rim into glass-rimmer while slowly turning the glass to cover the glass’ rim with sugar. If you do not own a glass-rimmer, a saucer or bowl works well.
  • Fill Collins glass with ice.
  • Mix ingredients in a pitcher filled with ice. Stir with wooden spoon.
  • Pour into glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.
  • Enjoy!

White Sangria

  • measuring cup
  • 64 oz glass pitcher
  • 9 oz wine glass

Ingredients
The location of these ingredients at the PartySource is listed in parentheses.

  • ½ pound seedless green grapes, stems removed
  • 1–2 peaches, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 3 C fruity white wine, such as Silver Beach Sauvignon Blanc (Aisle 7A) or Cantina La-Vis Pinot Grigio (Aisle 9A)
  • 1 C apple juice (Aisle 7C)
  • 1 C pineapple juice (Aisle 7C)
  • 8-12 fresh mint (Aisle 1A)
  • ice

Instructions

  • In a pitcher combine fruit and white wine. Stir with wooden spoon.
  • Let sit for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Add apple and pineapple juices. Stir with wooden spoon.
  • Add the ice, mint leaves, and serve.
  • Enjoy!

Beer Margaritas

Glassware/Bar Tools Needed
Bar tools can be found in Aisle 9B at the PartySource.

  • 1 gal. plastic container
  • 1-¾ oz Jigger
  • measuring cup
  • Sugar & Salt Glass-Rimmer
  • wooden spoon
  • 16 oz margarita glass

Ingredients
The location of these ingredients at the PartySource is listed in parentheses.

  • (3) 12 oz chilled beers (36 oz total), Pacifico recommended (Check the beer dept. in the rear right corner of the Party Source)
  • (1) 12 oz can Minute Maid frozen limeade concentrate, thawed (Aisle 1B)
  • 12 oz Jose Cuervo Gold (Aisle 11B)
  • 4 oz Senor Curacao Blue Curacao (Aisle 9B)
  • Lime wedges
  • Coarse salt
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

  • Wet the outside rim of the glass with lime wedge. The lime juice helps the salt stick to the glass.
  • Holding the glass parallel to the bar surface, dab the rim into glass-rimmer while slowly turning the glass to cover the glass’ rim with salt (it is important to use a coarse salt such as kosher salt – iodized table salt will not achieve the proper affect). If you do not own a glass-rimmer, a saucer or bowl works well.
  • Fill glass with ice.
  • In one gallon container, combine beer, limeade, and tequila.
  • Pour margarita into salt rimmed glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
  • Enjoy!

Bourbon Slush

  • measuring cup
  • 1 gal. plastic container
  • 11 oz stemmed goblet

Ingredients
The location of these ingredients at the PartySource is listed in parentheses.

  • 2 cups Buffalo Trace bourbon (Aisle 10B)
  • 2½ cups strong brewed black tea
  • 12 oz Minute Maid frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed (Aisle 1B)
  • 6 oz Minute Maid frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed (Aisle 1B)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 cups water

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a one-gallon container and stir.
  • Freeze overnight.
  • Scoop slush into a goblet and enjoy!
